My church is sooo awesome! How many times do you go to church and see the pastor drive out in a stinkin Delorean, then preach the Word like nobody's business! Probably only once in a lifetime, and for me it was last Sunday.
My church, as I have blogged and posted video of, is in the middle of an "I Love the 80s" series. We have already seen a 20% increase in attendance in the first week, and this past Sunday for the Back to the Future message, Pastor Lee came out on stage in a Delorean, and it was amazing.
Even more than seeing the Delorean, was seeing the hands go up for salvation after he finished speaking about the most important place we could ever travel back in time to: the cross. We already have gotten criticisms in blogland - not that we mind, it usually means we're doing something right - for even doing a series centered around the 80s, but all the bright colors, lights, props, 80s cover songs, and money we poured into advertising is for bringing people into the Kingdom. Despite/because of the big hair and mullets, people are meeting Jesus, and it's all for the glory of God.
Still two more weeks, can't wait to see what happens!
