I wish I could have blogged more about the conference during the conference, but our extravagant resort didn't have any internet.  I did manage to post some pics on my flickr which you should all check out RIGHT NOW.

First of all, going into this conference I was already excited about seeing UNITED.  When I was at the ATF Battlecry event last year, I was fortunate enough to join Hillsong United in a meet and greet room and meet and...greet them.  They are some of the most genuine and authentic people I've met.  They are wrapped up in their local church, and through that church have a global impact, not the other way around.  I truly respect them.

Here is the major thing that I took away from this conference, besides the feeling God wants me to suddenly plant a church in sunny florida :):

It's all about Jesus

Beyond the amazing worship, which is incredilicious, and talent, the crowd, the lights...strip it all away.  You have Jesus.  The reason I rank this weekends worship as one of my most memorable is because there was 6,000 people in a room with the same thing on there mind: I need more of Jesus right now.  I distinctly remember being almost breathless and thinking, "Jesus is here." 

Those are the experiences I pray our student ministry can grasp hold of.  You don't need Hillsong United to bring Jesus, you just need you to want Jesus...right then...in that moment.

What keeps us from wanting Jesus in our worship?

I think we believe its the worship and worship leader's job to draw Jesus into the room, wrong!  Way way wrong!  Jesus will not enter a room he is unwanted, how much do you Jesus when you worship.  I'm a firm believer that Jesus blows us away in basements, youth rooms, and 5,000 seat baptist churches.
